Exercise Mats and Equipment Mats
The crucial importance of exercise mats in one’s workout routine can perhaps only be fully appreciated by
someone who has already suffered from an exercise-related injury or soreness. However, such a situation need not
arise if one is able to setup their workouts and trainings in a sufficiently safe and comfortable environment.
All indoor exercises should, in one way or another, utilize the proper exercise mat designed for the activity.
The exercise bike, for instance, instead of remaining stationary, can sometimes shift across the smooth flat floor
due to the jerking motion of the cycling. The exercise becomes less effective as the bike’s movement affects the
user’s motions and disturbs the bike’s internal mechanics and wears out its feet. Even the floor might be damaged
with scrapes and scratches.
The exercise mat is highly recommended for use also with simpler exercises like jumping jacks, to avoid direct
contact with a hard floor which would intensify the forceful impact and the wear and tear of tendons, joints,
muscles and bones. This would not only cause slow but long term damage to the exercising body, but would also
hamper the efficacy of the exercise.
Excessive stress on joints, bones, and muscles signifies unintended exertion on the body; it is neither a
healthy nor an effective way to workout. Exercise mats and equipment mats create a shield against this and help
achieve a safer, healthier and more effective workout.
