Often, gym equipments purchased or received as gifts end up almost unused and neglected in some corner until they are sold off here at knock-down nominal prices. Or someone wishing to upgrade their gym equipment to the latest might be intending to wash their hands off of their older equipment.

It is advisable to ask the seller detailed questions about the equipment before buying it; like if it had been bought brand new, how long ago it had been bought, and how well-used it has been. Knowing these will help form an idea of the present condition and worth of the machine, for unless it is in a good condition, it might be difficult to maintain. Having a rough estimate of the original price of the equipment when new can also help one bargain more for a better deal.

The equipment should be carefully inspected and assessed, double checked and preferably given a trial to make sure nothing is amiss.  A friend or acquaintance with some know-how can be consulted before making a decision. The seller should be asked for the user manual that came with the equipment.
